Structural Landscaping (Trade)

For landscapers who build garden structures such as decks, pergolas, fences and small retaining walls.

6,501 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 5,581 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers
  • Carports, decks, fences, gazebos and pergolas
  • Retaining walls that don’t need engineering approval
  • Prefabricated sheds up to 10 square metres, and their slabs
  • Landscape drainage, and paving or concrete that cars won’t drive on
  • Tennis and other sports courts

Not covered

  • Retaining walls that need an engineer’s sign-off
  • Driveways and other paving for cars

Good to know

Like most trade licences, it also lets the holder do small jobs from another class that are part of the main job, as long as each is worth less than $3,300 and isn’t plumbing, drainage, gas or other work that needs its own licence.
