Steel fixers place the reinforcing steel that goes inside concrete slabs and footings.

441 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 320 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers
  • Placing reinforcing steel in footing trenches for slabs on the ground
  • Placing reinforcing steel on formwork before the concrete is poured

Good to know

Like most trade licences, it also lets the holder do small jobs from another class that are part of the main job, as long as each is worth less than $3,300 and isn’t plumbing, drainage, gas or other work that needs its own licence.
