Site Classifier

Site classifiers test the ground on a block and classify it, so footings can be designed to suit the soil.

95 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 47 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers
  • Surveying a site with levelling equipment
  • Taking samples and testing soil and materials on site, including moisture tests
  • Classifying the site from the site and laboratory results
  • Plans for on-site waste water systems, such as septic systems (some licences leave this out)

Good to know

Your builder or engineer normally arranges a site classification before the footings for a new house are designed.
