Shopfitting (Trade)

Shopfitters make and install counters, cabinets, display units and shopfronts.

868 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 686 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers
  • Making and putting together cabinets, showcases, wall units, counters and work stations
  • Shopfronts, entries and bulkheads
  • Floor framing, and wall and ceiling framing
  • Stairs
  • Cutting and fitting glass
  • Painting and other finishes, including preparing the surface

Good to know

Like most trade licences, it also lets the holder do small jobs from another class that are part of the main job, as long as each is worth less than $3,300 and isn’t plumbing, drainage, gas or other work that needs its own licence.
