7,145 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 6,336 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers
  • Preparing surfaces and applying paint and other coatings
  • Texture coatings
  • Wallpaper
  • Thin cement render, up to 8 mm thick (some licences in this class exclude render)

Not covered

  • Render thicker than 8 mm

Good to know

Like most trade licences, it also lets the holder do small jobs from another class that are part of the main job, as long as each is worth less than $3,300 and isn’t plumbing, drainage, gas or other work that needs its own licence.
