Mechanical Services - Air-conditioning and Refrigeration (Unlimited Design)

The broadest air conditioning licence. It covers installing and servicing air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation, and designing these systems.

500 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 268 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers

Installing, repairing, servicing, testing and commissioning air conditioning, air handling and refrigeration equipment that uses refrigerant gas
Mechanical ventilation systems
Designing these systems for work they do themselves
Fire collars, when they are part of the job

Good to know

Like most trade licences, it also lets the holder do small jobs from another class that are part of the main job, as long as each is worth less than $3,300 and isn’t plumbing, drainage, gas or other work that needs its own licence.
