Joinery

Joiners make and fit the timber parts of a house, such as doors, window frames, stairs and built-in units.

10,191 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 8,638 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers
  • Making and fitting door and window frames, doors and sashes, and stairs
  • Making and installing joinery units
  • Wall framing, internal linings and partition frames
  • Subfloor framing such as bearers and joists
  • Glass and aluminium work as part of joinery

Good to know

Like most trade licences, it also lets the holder do small jobs from another class that are part of the main job, as long as each is worth less than $3,300 and isn’t plumbing, drainage, gas or other work that needs its own licence.
