The broadest builder licence. It covers building work on every kind of building, of any size.

15,202 licensees on QBCC’s register hold this class. 9,580 hold it as a contractor licence, so can sign a contract with you directly.

What this licence covers
  • Building work on all classes of building, including houses, apartments, offices and high-rise

Not covered

  • Pre-purchase building inspections for someone else
  • Doing plumbing, drainage, gas, electrical or fire protection work themselves, unless they also hold that licence

Good to know

For a house or renovation, a Builder - Low Rise licence is all that is needed. An open licence isn’t a sign of better work, just of a wider scope.
